Effortlessly Useful
Custom built to handle WA hospital Emergency Departments’ GP communication needs.
- Automated fax generation and sending:
- One hour post discharge, CommuniK8 gathers relevant information from EDIS and sends a fax to the patient’s GP.
- ED Clinicians need only enter information as usual into EDIS – no additional work is required.
- Clerks are required to obtain patient consent:
“May we inform your GP of your ED attendance?” and record Y/N in EDIS.
- Fax Customisation:
- Within one hour of discharge, clinicians can edit the fax, adding details and clarifying EDIS information.
- For 72 hours post discharge, clinicians can update the fax, adding information and correcting errors.
Updates will cause a replacement fax to be sent.
- Security:
- All data is encrypted between the server and client computer (SSL).
- Each clinician has their own username/password pair.
- A copy of each version of every fax is kept, including signing and date/time information.
- Accessible only within the Health Department intranet.
- Requires site-specific username/password to login.
- Patient’s ED history is immediately available, including other hospital attendances.
- Built by a useability fanatic, the software is incredibly easy to learn and use.
- “We’re incredibly happy with CommuniK8” – Deb O’Brien, ED Director, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, WA.
- “You’d won me over half-way through the demo” – John Matthewman, IT Head, Swan Districts Hospital, WA.
